Convert drawing length to real length or the reverse using a 1:n scale and optional scale presets.

Formula 

Real length = Drawing length × n
Drawing length = Real length/n
Scale = 1:n

Example

At 1:100, a drawing length of 50 mm represents 5,000 mm or 5 m. A real length of 5 m is shown as 50 mm at this scale.

How to use

Engineering notes

  • Both lengths are converted to a common unit before applying scale.
  • For a full-size CAD model, change viewport or print scale as appropriate rather than rescaling model geometry.

Frequently asked questions FAQ

Can I enter an enlargement scale such as 1:0.5?

Yes. Any positive denominator is allowed. At 1:0.5 the drawing length is twice the real length.

Does display precision change the calculation?

No. Rounding is applied only to displayed results, not intermediate calculations. Small nonzero values use scientific notation. Consider the precision of the original measurements when interpreting results.
